Testimonials

McKinley

“Caitlin came to our house during the Covid pandemic to put our much loved Bernese Mountain dog, McKinley to sleep. McKinley was a very gentle, timid and extremely nervous dog who sadly contracted stomach cancer when he was only 7 years old. Because of his nervous nature it would have been traumatic to take him to the vets to be put to sleep especially as at the time owners were not allowed inside.

Caitlin's professionalism, her caring nature and obvious love of animals helped make the situation much more bearable and the fact that McKinley was put to sleep in his own home kept him completely calm and unafraid.”

Jake

“Jake was our family pet dog for more than 15 years - originally from the dog pound. As we knew his days were numbered we knew we wouldn’t want to say goodbye at a vets practice. We were so lucky that Caitlin was available at this sad time. She was absolutely amazing, coming with the right blend of professionalism and kindness. She took control and explained everything as it happened. Jake slipped away with us around him. Thank you so much Caitlin”

Sully

“Sadly my best mate became ever so seriously unwell. Caitlin came over late one Sunday evening and eased his departure along. She was very calming to both Sully and I. Most importantly it was at home and stress free for Sully”

Agatha

Our dear gentle friend lost her battle with cancer and drifted into her own sleepy malaise. The thought of a car journey and wait at an unfamiliar clinic was difficult to contemplate. Caitlin’s gentle home facility saved those worries and Agatha was able to drift away in the comfort of her safe home surroundings. The compassionate care and professionalism was very much appreciated. Can’t thank you enough'“.

Daisy

Our beautiful cat Daisy was nearing the end of her little life with old age and declined rapidly over a few days. She was 18 years old and I didn’t want to take her to the vets which would have caused unnecessary anxiety and stress for her as well as us. Our local Veterinary Surgery no longer offer a home visit to euthanise pets. However, they recommended Caitlin at Forget me Not pets. From the moment I called Caitlin to enquire about the services available I immediately felt reassured. We discussed all of my questions and any concerns I had. Caitlin came to the house the next morning. She has the most empathetic and caring nature whilst being completely professional. More importantly she had such a kind and gentle manner with Daisy. Daisy was in no distress at all and was calm and relaxed when she passed away peacefully in my arms. We even managed to smile and have a little laugh (amongst tears) about the fantastic memories we had with Daisy. That’s how comfortable Caitlin made us feel. Caitlin. you made an unbearable situation bareable with you compassion and kindness. A true professional. Thank you. The beautiful hand written card that came by post a few days later with a pack of Forget me Not seeds for us to plant in memory of Daisy just shows how caring and personal Caitlin’s services are. Thank you again.”

Bailey

We can't recommend Caitlin highly enough. Her professionalism, compassion and empathy for the animals she works with are outstanding.
Caitlin helped us when our dog, Bailey, became ill to the point that the vets were unable to suggest anything else that might help him, and they recommended Caitlin to us for home euthanasia.
She called over on a Saturday afternoon, and was so kind and gentle with our dog, he was completely relaxed and at ease.
Rather than distressing him by taking him to the vet, he was in his favourite spot on the sofa, with his family all around him.
He passed over with dignity in the nicest way we could have hoped for.
We had Bailey's ashes back 2 days later, again personally delivered by Caitlin. The pawprint, fur clippings, card and wildflower seeds were a lovely touch.
Bailey was a huge part of our lives and our family, and we're so grateful that Caitlin was able to help him pass over with the dignity and kindness he deserved.”

Eddie

Eddie was just approaching his 14th birthday when he had a vestibular event which, after veterinary treatment he did not recover from. We decided to contact Caitlin at Forget Me Not Pets so he could leave us peacefully, at home with his family around him. Caitlin is a calm, warm and caring person, who talked through the process with us and was available throughout the next days to answer any questions we had. When Caitlin arrived on the day, she sat and talked with us and then administered a sedative so that Eddie could drift off to sleep before his final journey. His final moments were peaceful with his family around him at home and we are so grateful to Caitlin for her compassion and kindness. Caitlin took Eddie for cremation and delivered him back home to us, just over a week later.
The service Caitlin provides is personal and professional and we recommend her services to anyone who has to go through this most difficult experience, we are glad we chose her for Eddie’s final journey.”

Audrey

“A perfect day. I took Audrey out for her final walk around the castle then it was tuna and hairdryer and then she settled down on the sofa for a nap until the doorbell went. She got down, sniffed and licked the vet then got back onto the sofa ready for sleep. It was all so calm and peaceful with all her family around telling stories about her until she was placed in a basket and taken to the car. Only when the car drove off did my heart break.”

Daisy

“Yesterday we had to have our best friend of nearly 16 years put to sleep, we had a lady called Caitlyn come out and honestly there aren’t enough good words in the world to describe how much more comfortable and at peace she helped me and my family feel. If anyone is wondering about doing this than a standard euthanasia in the vets I promise it is worth every penny. She was so patient and gave us time to process what had just happened and I honestly could not recommend this company and particularly caitlyn enough. Caitlyn if you see this, thank you so much for everything you and your team do x.”

Bobby

We can’t thank Caitlyn enough for her professionalism, caring nature and how amazing she was with such a daunting and sad time. We were so assured our boy Bobby was in the best hands, and we took happiness from the fact he was at home, in his bed and completely comfortable and loved throughout. We received a lovely photo of his paw-print, flower seeds and a lovely hand written message from Caitlyn. Thank you so much for giving Bobby the most comfortable experience possible, we are so grateful for your service.”

Spike

We had Caitlin come to the house to put our little man spike to sleep on Friday. My daughter has Aspergers and ADHD and she was very nervous. Caitlin explained in a way she could understand and it made her feel at ease. Myself and my wife didn’t really know if it was the right thing to do, but she assured us that the way he was it was his time. She could see for herself how loved Spike was and how well cared for he was and if I could give Caitlin 5 stars on her website i would 100%. She was so caring had so much compassion would highly highly recommend. Thank you so much Caitlin from Mark, Lorraine and Lisa”
